UPDATING YOUR SITE ON THE NYAC ONLINE PORTFOLIO
All you have to do to update your site is to email satre@satre.org your new images/resume/info/etc. Your annual renewal fee covers any updates as often as you like (within reason) with no extra charge. Please allow 2 weeks (under normal circumstances) for updates to be completed.
PREPARING IMAGES:
Submit images of your work so that all 3 on your site will look good
together. They should be cohesive and look clean and professional on one
page. Your images should be in JPEG (.jpg) format and no side should be less
than 400 pixels wide. Save with MAXIMUM jpeg quality. (For
example: if your image is square, your smallest allowable jpeg would be at
least 400 pixels x 400 pixels saved at 80% quality ("Maximum" setting).
If your image was twice as high as it is wide, your smallest allowable jpeg
would be at least 800 pixels high x 400 pixels wide. Note that dpi (dots
per inch) is irrelevant here, pay attention to pixel size only when making
your images). Try to keep the file size below around
300 kB (kilobytes) each or they will take an unnecessarily long time for you
to send them and to receive them for processing. Of course, it's still OK
if they're larger, just be prepared to wait a while for uploading. If
you are not sure how to make good quality images for the Web, download this tutorial prepared
by Satre (file is a 1.3 MB Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file). IMPORTANT:
your file names should include your LAST NAME ONLY and the image number. For
example, if your name was Leonardo DaVinci, you should name your files "davinci1.jpg", "davinci2.jpg",
and "davinci3.jpg" accordingly. FOLLOW THIS NAMING CONVENTION PRECISELY
PLEASE! DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR FIRST NAME, CAPITAL LETTERS,
OR TITLES.
SENDING IMAGES:
Email your images as attachments to satre@satre.org.
Be sure to name your files correctly before you attach them, e.g. "davinci1.jpg", "davinci2.jpg", "davinci3.jpg".
If you do not name them
correctly, it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to match them up
to you. If you do not know how to send attachments, consult the directions on
your email software. Include the following information for each attachment:
File Name
Title
Materials
Size (length x width x height)
Date

SENDING TEXT-BASED MATERIALS:
If you are
planning on updating any text files such as a statement, bio, etc., make
sure they are either in Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), or
plain text (.txt) format. If you are submitting a RESUME, a pdf (Adobe Acrobat)
file is desirable, but it can also be submitted as a Word, Rich Text Format,
or text document and a pdf will be made for you.
SENDING OTHER INFO:
If you want to update URLs (Web site addresses) or email
addresses, simply include the correct information in an email to satre@satre.org.
